And he went and found his body thrown in the road, and the ass and the lion standing beside the body. The lion had not eaten the body or torn the ass.


In all this Job did not sin or charge God with wrong.


And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, he is in your power; only spare his life.”


He has described a circle upon the face of the waters at the boundary between light and darkness.


and prescribed bounds for it, and set bars and doors,


“Have you commanded the morning since your days began, and caused the dawn to know its place,


Thou didst set a bound which they should not pass, so that they might not again cover the earth.


then over us would have gone the raging waters.


Surely the wrath of men shall praise thee; the residue of wrath thou wilt gird upon thee.


Thou dost rule the raging of the sea; when its waves rise, thou stillest them.


when he assigned to the sea its limit, so that the waters might not transgress his command, when he marked out the foundations of the earth,


Measure by measure, by exile thou didst contend with them; he removed them with his fierce blast in the day of the east wind.


Do you not fear me? says the Lord; Do you not tremble before me? I placed the sand as the bound for the sea, a perpetual barrier which it cannot pass; though the waves toss, they cannot prevail, though they roar, they cannot pass over it.
