although there is no violence in my hands, and my prayer is pure.


Yet the righteous holds to his way, and he that has clean hands grows stronger and stronger.


My foot has held fast to his steps; I have kept his way and have not turned aside.


Far be it from me to say that you are right; till I die I will not put away my integrity from me.


I hold fast my righteousness, and will not let it go; my heart does not reproach me for any of my days.


If I wash myself with snow, and cleanse my hands with lye,


I will not set before my eyes anything that is base. I hate the work of those who fall away; it shall not cleave to me.


if I have requited my friend with evil or plundered my enemy without cause,


Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth; walk in the ways of your heart and the sight of your eyes. But know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.


He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly, who despises the gain of oppressions, who shakes his hands, lest they hold a bribe, who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed and shuts his eyes from looking upon evil,


“Son of man, these men have taken their idols into their hearts, and set the stumbling block of their iniquity before their faces; should I let myself be inquired of at all by them?


For any one of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, who separates himself from me, taking his idols into his heart and putting the stumbling block of his iniquity before his face, and yet comes to a prophet to inquire for himself of me, I the Lord will answer him myself;


then those of you who escape will remember me among the nations where they are carried captive, when I have broken their wanton heart which has departed from me, and blinded their eyes which turn wantonly after their idols; and they will be loathsome in their own sight for the evils which they have committed, for all their abominations.


and it shall be to you a tassel to look upon and remember all the commandments of the Lord, to do them, not to follow after your own heart and your own eyes, which you are inclined to go after wantonly.


If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and throw it away; it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body be thrown into hell.
