And Ahab called Obadiah, who was over the household. (Now Obadiah revered the Lord greatly;


There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was blameless and upright, one who feared God, and turned away from evil.


“But where shall wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding?


“Whence then comes wisdom? And where is the place of understanding?


then he saw it and declared it; he established it, and searched it out.


The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; a good understanding have all those who practice it. His praise endures for ever!


Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.


He who chastens the nations, does he not chastise? He who teaches men knowledge,


The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.


The teaching of the wise is a fountain of life, that one may avoid the snares of death.


A wise man is cautious and turns away from evil, but a fool throws off restraint and is careless.


The highway of the upright turns aside from evil; he who guards his way preserves his life.
