Are the consolations of God too small for you, or the word that deals gently with you?


Receive instruction from his mouth, and lay up his words in your heart.


But he is unchangeable and who can turn him? What he desires, that he does.


You say, ‘I am clean, without transgression; I am pure, and there is no iniquity in me.


This would be my consolation; I would even exult in pain unsparing; for I have not denied the words of the Holy One.


How sweet are thy words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!


I have laid up thy word in my heart, that I might not sin against thee.


Therefore I love thy commandments above gold, above fine gold.


The counsel of the Lord stands for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.


Remove far from me falsehood and lying; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the food that is needful for me,


Thy words were found, and I ate them, and thy words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart; for I am called by thy name, O Lord, God of hosts.


And the Lord said, “Who then is the faithful and wise steward, whom his master will set over his household, to give them their portion of food at the proper time?


the master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know, and will punish him, and put him with the unfaithful.


But he said to them, “I have food to eat of which you do not know.”


Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me, and to accomplish his work.


Jesus then said to the Jews who had believed in him, “If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples,


strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying that through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God.


Like newborn babes, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up to salvation;


They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out, that it might be plain that they all are not of us.
