He had seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she-asses, and very many servants; so that this man was the greatest of all the people of the east.


Surely such are the dwellings of the ungodly, such is the place of him who knows not God.”


that the exulting of the wicked is short, and the joy of the godless but for a moment?


he will perish for ever like his own dung; those who have seen him will say, ‘Where is he?’


“Behold, I know your thoughts, and your schemes to wrong me.


Have you not asked those who travel the roads, and do you not accept their testimony


Behold, all of you have seen it yourselves; why then have you become altogether vain?


I would give him an account of all my steps; like a prince I would approach him.


Those who hate you will be clothed with shame, and the tent of the wicked will be no more.”


“I will not enter my house or get into my bed;


Again I passed by, and lo, he was no more; though I sought him, he could not be found.


I will send it forth, says the Lord of hosts, and it shall enter the house of the thief, and the house of him who swears falsely by my name; and it shall abide in his house and consume it, both timber and stones.”
