The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and for evermore.


For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the cover of his tent, he will set me high upon a rock.

In vain have I smitten your children, they took no correction; your own sword devoured your prophets like a ravening lion.


But the hand of Ahikam the son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah so that he was not given over to the people to be put to death.


Then the princes said to Baruch, “Go and hide, you and Jeremiah, and let no one know where you are.”


And Jeremiah ordered Baruch, saying, “I am debarred from going to the house of the Lord;


So they took Jeremiah and cast him into the cistern of Malchiah, the king's son, which was in the court of the guard, letting Jeremiah down by ropes. And there was no water in the cistern, but only mire, and Jeremiah sank in the mire.


Now the chief priests and the Pharisees had given orders that if any one knew where he was, he should let them know, so that they might arrest him.


The Pharisees heard the crowd thus muttering about him, and the chief priests and Pharisees sent officers to arrest him.


These words he spoke in the treasury, as he taught in the temple; but no one arrested him, because his hour had not yet come.


So they took up stones to throw at him; but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple.


And Peter came to himself, and said, “Now I am sure that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from all that the Jewish people were expecting.”
