For behold, the Lord is coming forth out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity, and the earth will disclose the blood shed upon her, and will no more cover her slain.


For the Lord has a day of vengeance, a year of recompense for the cause of Zion.


According to their deeds, so will he repay, wrath to his adversaries, requital to his enemies; to the coastlands he will render requital.


And he said: “The Lord roars from Zion, and utters his voice from Jerusalem; the pastures of the shepherds mourn, and the top of Carmel withers.”
