4 You shall no more be termed Forsaken, and your land shall no more be termed Desolate; but you shall be called My delight is in her, and your land Married; for the Lord delights in you, and your land shall be married.

For the Lord takes pleasure in his people; he adorns the humble with victory.


As for the saints in the land, they are the noble, in whom is all my delight.


But Zion said, “The Lord has forsaken me, my Lord has forgotten me.”


“Sing, O barren one, who did not bear; break forth into singing and cry aloud, you who have not been in travail! For the children of the desolate one will be more than the children of her that is married, says the Lord.


Whereas you have been forsaken and hated, with no one passing through, I will make you majestic for ever, a joy from age to age.


Violence shall no more be heard in your land, devastation or destruction within your borders; you shall call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise.


I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall exult in my God; for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation, he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.


And they shall be called The holy people, The redeemed of the Lord; and you shall be called Sought out, a city not forsaken.


The nations shall see your vindication, and all the kings your glory; and you shall be called by a new name which the mouth of the Lord will give.


For as a young man marries a virgin, so shall your sons marry you, and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you.


I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and be glad in my people; no more shall be heard in it the sound of weeping and the cry of distress.


Return, O faithless children, says the Lord; for I am your master; I will take you, one from a city and two from a family, and I will bring you to Zion.


I will rejoice in doing them good, and I will plant them in this land in faithfulness, with all my heart and all my soul.


And this city shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and a glory before all the nations of the earth who shall hear of all the good that I do for them; they shall fear and tremble because of all the good and all the prosperity I provide for it.


And they will say, ‘This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are now inhabited and fortified.’


“And in that day, says the Lord, I will answer the heavens and they shall answer the earth;


and the earth shall answer the grain, the wine, and the oil, and they shall answer Jezreel;


The Lord your God is in your midst, a warrior who gives victory; he will rejoice over you with gladness, he will renew you in his love; he will exult over you with loud singing


Then all nations will call you blessed, for you will be a land of delight, says the Lord of hosts.


He who has the bride is the bridegroom; the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly at the bridegroom's voice; therefore this joy of mine is now full.


I feel a divine jealousy for you, for I betrothed you to Christ to present you as a pure bride to her one husband.


The Lord your God will make you abundantly prosperous in all the work of your hand, in the fruit of your body, and in the fruit of your cattle, and in the fruit of your ground; for the Lord will again take delight in prospering you, as he took delight in your fathers,


Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have; for he has said, “I will never fail you nor forsake you.”


Once you were no people but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy but now you have received mercy.


And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband;
