I put on righteousness, and it clothed me; my justice was like a robe and a turban.


For zeal for thy house has consumed me, and the insults of those who insult thee have fallen on me.


O Lord, thou God of vengeance, thou God of vengeance, shine forth!


Righteousness shall be the girdle of his waist, and faithfulness the girdle of his loins.


O Lord, thy hand is lifted up, but they see it not. Let them see thy zeal for thy people, and be ashamed. Let the fire for thy adversaries consume them.


for out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and out of Mount Zion a band of survivors. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this.


The Lord goes forth like a mighty man, like a man of war he stirs up his fury; he cries out, he shouts aloud, he shows himself mighty against his foes.


Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord; awake, as in days of old, the generations of long ago. Was it not thou that didst cut Rahab in pieces, that didst pierce the dragon?


Look down from heaven and see, from thy holy and glorious habitation. Where are thy zeal and thy might? The yearning of thy heart and thy compassion are withheld from me.


Why is thy apparel red, and thy garments like his that treads in the wine press?


“I have trodden the wine press alone, and from the peoples no one was with me; I trod them in my anger and trampled them in my wrath; their lifeblood is sprinkled upon my garments, and I have stained all my raiment.


Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David, and over his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and for evermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.


“Thus shall my anger spend itself, and I will vent my fury upon them and satisfy myself; and they shall know that I, the Lord, have spoken in my jealousy, when I spend my fury upon them.


So the angel who talked with me said to me, ‘Cry out, Thus says the Lord of hosts: I am exceedingly jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion.


His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for thy house will consume me.”


truthful speech, and the power of God; with the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and for the left;


Stand therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,


And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.


But, since we belong to the day, let us be sober, and put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.


inflicting vengeance upon those who do not know God and upon those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.


For we know him who said, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge his people.”


Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! He who sat upon it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war.
