The law of his God is in his heart; his steps do not slip.


I delight to do thy will, O my God; thy law is within my heart.”


He will swallow up death for ever, and the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces, and the reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth; for the Lord has spoken.


For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our ruler, the Lord is our king; he will save us.


Isaiah said to them, “Say to your master, ‘Thus says the Lord: Do not be afraid because of the words that you have heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have reviled me.


“Hearken to me, you who pursue deliverance, you who seek the Lord; look to the rock from which you were hewn, and to the quarry from which you were digged.


“Fear not, for you will not be ashamed; be not confounded, for you will not be put to shame; for you will forget the shame of your youth, and the reproach of your widowhood you will remember no more.


But you, gird up your loins; arise, and say to them everything that I command you. Do not be dismayed by them, lest I dismay you before them.


And you, son of man, be not afraid of them, nor be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns are with you and you sit upon scorpions; be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, for they are a rebellious house.


And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.


“Blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.


“Blessed are you when men hate you, and when they exclude you and revile you, and cast out your name as evil, on account of the Son of man!


Then they left the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for the name.


and you show that you are a letter from Christ delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.


And these words which I command you this day shall be upon your heart;


that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,


Indeed I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as refuse, in order that I may gain Christ


“This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put my laws on their hearts, and write them on their minds,”


If you are reproached for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.


They are surprised that you do not now join them in the same wild profligacy, and they abuse you;
