but thou art the same, and thy years have no end.


The children of thy servants shall dwell secure; their posterity shall be established before thee.


Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand and marked off the heavens with a span, enclosed the dust of the earth in a measure and weighed the mountains in scales and the hills in a balance?


Lift up your eyes on high and see: who created these? He who brings out their host by number, calling them all by name; by the greatness of his might, and because he is strong in power not one is missing.


that men may see and know, may consider and understand together, that the hand of the Lord has done this, the Holy One of Israel has created it.


Who declared it from the beginning, that we might know, and beforetime, that we might say, “He is right”? There was none who declared it, none who proclaimed, none who heard your words.


He pursues them and passes on safely, by paths his feet have not trod.


Who gave up Jacob to the spoiler, and Israel to the robbers? Was it not the Lord, against whom we have sinned, in whose ways they would not walk, and whose law they would not obey?

When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand upon me, saying, “Fear not, I am the first and the last,


“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.


“And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write: ‘The words of the first and the last, who died and came to life.


I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”
