that thou shouldst have broken us in the place of jackals, and covered us with deep darkness.


For thou hast made the city a heap, the fortified city a ruin; the palace of aliens is a city no more, it will never be rebuilt.


the burning sand shall become a pool, and the thirsty ground springs of water; the haunt of jackals shall become a swamp, the grass shall become reeds and rushes.


Hark, a rumor! Behold, it comes!— a great commotion out of the north country to make the cities of Judah a desolation, a lair of jackals.


Hazor shall become a haunt of jackals, an everlasting waste; no man shall dwell there, no man shall sojourn in her.”


and Babylon shall become a heap of ruins, the haunt of jackals, a horror and a hissing, without inhabitant.


Her cities have become a horror, a land of drought and a desert, a land in which no one dwells, and through which no son of man passes.


I will make Jerusalem a heap of ruins, a lair of jackals; and I will make the cities of Judah a desolation, without inhabitant.”
