Far be it from thee to do such a thing, to slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous fare as the wicked! Far be that from thee! Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?”


And I am this day weak, though anointed king; these men the sons of Zeruiah are too hard for me. The Lord requite the evildoer according to his wickedness!”


Behold, I will bring evil upon you; I will utterly sweep you away, and will cut off from Ahab every male, bond or free, in Israel;


then hear thou from heaven, and act, and judge thy servants, requiting the guilty by bringing his conduct upon his own head, and vindicating the righteous by rewarding him according to his righteousness.


If I am wicked, woe to me! If I am righteous, I cannot lift up my head, for I am filled with disgrace and look upon my affliction.


Requite them according to their work, and according to the evil of their deeds; requite them according to the work of their hands; render them their due reward.


and that to thee, O Lord, belongs steadfast love. For thou dost requite a man according to his work.


therefore they shall eat the fruit of their way and be sated with their own devices.


If the righteous is requited on earth, how much more the wicked and the sinner!


From the fruit of his words a man is satisfied with good, and the work of a man's hand comes back to him.


He who digs a pit will fall into it, and a stone will come back upon him who starts it rolling.


but it will not be well with the wicked, neither will he prolong his days like a shadow, because he does not fear before God.


I will punish the world for its evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; I will put an end to the pride of the arrogant, and lay low the haughtiness of the ruthless.


“There is no peace,” says the Lord, “for the wicked.”


No more shall there be in it an infant that lives but a few days, or an old man who does not fill out his days, for the child shall die a hundred years old, and the sinner a hundred years old shall be accursed.


Behold, it is written before me: “I will not keep silent, but I will repay, yea, I will repay into their bosom


their iniquities and their fathers' iniquities together, says the Lord; because they burned incense upon the mountains and reviled me upon the hills, I will measure into their bosom payment for their former doings.”


I will punish you according to the fruit of your doings, says the Lord; I will kindle a fire in her forest, and it shall devour all that is round about her.”


But every one shall die for his own sin; each man who eats sour grapes, his teeth shall be set on edge.


“Yea, thus says the Lord God: I will deal with you as you have done, who have despised the oath in breaking the covenant,


The soul that sins shall die. The son shall not suffer for the iniquity of the father, nor the father suffer for the iniquity of the son; the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.


and he spread it before me; and it had writing on the front and on the back, and there were written on it words of lamentation and mourning and woe.


I the Lord have spoken; it shall come to pass, I will do it; I will not go back, I will not spare, I will not repent; according to your ways and your doings I will judge you, says the Lord God.”


If I say to the wicked, O wicked man, you shall surely die, and you do not speak to warn the wicked to turn from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand.


Then they will cry to the Lord, but he will not answer them; he will hide his face from them at that time, because they have made their deeds evil.


But the earth will be desolate because of its inhabitants, for the fruit of their doings.


But if you will not do so, behold, you have sinned against the Lord; and be sure your sin will find you out.


For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive good or evil, according to what he has done in the body.


For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy; yet mercy triumphs over judgment.


and God also made all the wickedness of the men of Shechem fall back upon their heads, and upon them came the curse of Jotham the son of Jerubbaal.
