As I have seen, those who plow iniquity and sow trouble reap the same.


A king is not saved by his great army; a warrior is not delivered by his great strength.


“See the man who would not make God his refuge, but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and sought refuge in his wealth!”


Put no confidence in extortion, set no vain hopes on robbery; if riches increase, set not your heart on them.


therefore they shall eat the fruit of their way and be sated with their own devices.


Truthful lips endure for ever, but a lying tongue is but for a moment.


From the fruit of his mouth a good man eats good, but the desire of the treacherous is for violence.


A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who utters lies will not escape.


He who sows injustice will reap calamity, and the rod of his fury will fail.


Again I saw that under the sun the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favor to the men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all.


though you make them grow on the day that you plant them, and make them blossom in the morning that you sow; yet the harvest will flee away in a day of grief and incurable pain.


Ephraim has encompassed me with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit; but Judah is still known by God, and is faithful to the Holy One.


there is swearing, lying, killing, stealing, and committing adultery; they break all bounds and murder follows murder.


They feed on the sin of my people; they are greedy for their iniquity.


By their wickedness they make the king glad, and the princes by their treachery.


For they sow the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind. The standing grain has no heads, it shall yield no meal; if it were to yield, aliens would devour it.


After whom has the king of Israel come out? After whom do you pursue? After a dead dog! After a flea!
