After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, “Fear not, Abram, I am your shield; your reward shall be very great.”


Then the word of the Lord came to him,


Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.


Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no help.


Hide not thy face from me. Turn not thy servant away in anger, thou who hast been my help. Cast me not off, forsake me not, O God of my salvation!


Our soul waits for the Lord; he is our help and shield.


As for me, I am poor and needy; but the Lord takes thought for me. Thou art my help and my deliverer; do not tarry, O my God!


Behold, God is my helper; the Lord is the upholder of my life.


In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust without a fear. What can flesh do to me?

Therefore, brethren, since we have confidence to enter the sanctuary by the blood of Jesus,


Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.


And he said to him, “Fear not; for the hand of Saul my father shall not find you; you shall be king over Israel, and I shall be next to you; Saul my father also knows this.”
