Then Judah said to his brothers, “What profit is it if we slay our brother and conceal his blood?


Come, let us sell him to the Ishmaelites, and let not our hand be upon him, for he is our brother, our own flesh.” And his brothers heeded him.


But when his brothers saw that their father loved him more than all his brothers, they hated him, and could not speak peaceably to him.


But Joseph said to them, “Fear not, for am I in the place of God?


It is good for me that I was afflicted, that I might learn thy statutes.


All day long they seek to injure my cause; all their thoughts are against me for evil.


Surely the wrath of men shall praise thee; the residue of wrath thou wilt gird upon thee.


But he does not so intend, and his mind does not so think; but it is in his mind to destroy, and to cut off nations not a few;


this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men.


God, having raised up his servant, sent him to you first, to bless you in turning every one of you from your wickedness.”


We know that in everything God works for good with those who love him, who are called according to his purpose.
