Then Abimelech took sheep and oxen, and male and female slaves, and gave them to Abraham, and restored Sarah his wife to him.


And Abraham said, “I will swear.”


and I will make you swear by the Lord, the God of heaven and of the earth, that you will not take a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell,


They said, “We see plainly that the Lord is with you; so we say, let there be an oath between you and us, and let us make a covenant with you,


Come now, let us make a covenant, you and I; and let it be a witness between you and me.”


The God of Abraham and the God of Nahor, the God of their father, judge between us.” So Jacob swore by the Fear of his father Isaac,


and his master saw that the Lord was with him, and that the Lord caused all that he did to prosper in his hands.


And he said, “Swear to me”; and he swore to him. Then Israel bowed himself upon the head of his bed.


and if you swear, ‘As the Lord lives,’ in truth, in justice, and in uprightness, then nations shall bless themselves in him, and in him shall they glory.”

And David said to him, “Will you take me down to this band?” And he said, “Swear to me by God, that you will not kill me, or deliver me into the hands of my master, and I will take you down to this band.”
