Then the Lord said, “My spirit shall not abide in man for ever, for he is flesh, but his days shall be a hundred and twenty years.”


Keep steady my steps according to thy promise, and let no iniquity get dominion over me.


Consider how I love thy precepts! Preserve my life according to thy steadfast love.


I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek thy servant, for I do not forget thy commandments.


My soul is consumed with longing for thy ordinances at all times.


I will run in the way of thy commandments when thou enlargest my understanding!


Lead me in the path of thy commandments, for I delight in it.


Behold, I long for thy precepts; in thy righteousness give me life!


If thou, O Lord, shouldst mark iniquities, Lord, who could stand?


on account of sins. When our transgressions prevail over us, thou dost forgive them.


Surely there is not a righteous man on earth who does good and never sins.


And I said: “Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!”


He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters.

But he turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a hindrance to me; for you are not on the side of God, but of men.”


Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”


“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.


And he said to him, “Lord, I am ready to go with you to prison and to death.”


and he said to them, “Why do you sleep? Rise and pray that you may not enter into temptation.”


That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.


for if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body you will live.


Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not; for if a law had been given which could make alive, then righteousness would indeed be by the law.


For we all make many mistakes, and if any one makes no mistakes in what he says he is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body also.
