Behold, I am watching over them for evil and not for good; all the men of Judah who are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by famine, until there is an end of them.


Men dogged our steps so that we could not walk in our streets; our end drew near; our days were numbered; for our end had come.


Tell them therefore, ‘Thus says the Lord God: I will put an end to this proverb, and they shall no more use it as a proverb in Israel.’ But say to them, The days are at hand, and the fulfilment of every vision.


And you, O unhallowed wicked one, prince of Israel, whose day has come, the time of your final punishment,


Behold, it is coming and it will be brought about, says the Lord God. That is the day of which I have spoken.


“Behold, the day! Behold, it comes! Your doom has come, injustice has blossomed, pride has budded.


Now the end is upon you, and I will let loose my anger upon you, and will judge you according to your ways; and I will punish you for all your abominations.


Your doom has come to you, O inhabitant of the land; the time has come, the day is near, a day of tumult, and not of joyful shouting upon the mountains.


And he said, “Amos, what do you see?” And I said, “A basket of summer fruit.” Then the Lord said to me, “The end has come upon my people Israel; I will never again pass by them.
