We must all die, we are like water spilt on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again; but God will not take away the life of him who devises means not to keep his banished one an outcast.


The Almighty—we cannot find him; he is great in power and justice, and abundant righteousness he will not violate.


O Lord, open thou my lips, and my mouth shall show forth thy praise.


Give heed to my reproof; behold, I will pour out my thoughts to you; I will make my words known to you.


but he who misses me injures himself; all who hate me love death.”


The watchman says: “Morning comes, and also the night. If you will inquire, inquire; come back again.”


Lift up your eyes round about and see; they all gather, they come to you. As I live, says the Lord, you shall put them all on as an ornament, you shall bind them on as a bride does.


“As I live, says the Lord, though Coniah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, were the signet ring on my right hand, yet I would tear you off


Go, and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, ‘Return, faithless Israel, says the Lord. I will not look on you in anger, for I am merciful, says the Lord; I will not be angry for ever.


“Return, O faithless sons, I will heal your faithlessness.” “Behold, we come to thee; for thou art the Lord our God.


And now thus says the Lord God of hosts, the God of Israel: Why do you commit this great evil against yourselves, to cut off from you man and woman, infant and child, from the midst of Judah, leaving you no remnant?


Why do you provoke me to anger with the works of your hands, burning incense to other gods in the land of Egypt where you have come to live, that you may be cut off and become a curse and a taunt among all the nations of the earth?


“As I live, says the King, whose name is the Lord of hosts, like Tabor among the mountains, and like Carmel by the sea, shall one come.


for he does not willingly afflict or grieve the sons of men.


“Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God: Repent and turn away from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations.


As I live, says the Lord God, your sister Sodom and her daughters have not done as you and your daughters have done.


Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, says the Lord God, and not rather that he should turn from his way and live?


Wherefore, as I live, says the Lord God, surely, because you have defiled my sanctuary with all your detestable things and with all your abominations, therefore I will cut you down; my eye will not spare, and I will have no pity.


As it is written in the law of Moses, all this calamity has come upon us, yet we have not entreated the favor of the Lord our God, turning from our iniquities and giving heed to thy truth.


How can I give you up, O Ephraim! How can I hand you over, O Israel! How can I make you like Admah! How can I treat you like Zeboiim! My heart recoils within me, my compassion grows warm and tender.


Return, O Israel, to the Lord your God, for you have stumbled because of your iniquity.


“Yet even now,” says the Lord, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning;


Therefore, as I live,” says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, “Moab shall become like Sodom, and the Ammonites like Gomorrah, a land possessed by nettles and salt pits, and a waste for ever. The remnant of my people shall plunder them, and the survivors of my nation shall possess them.”


but truly, as I live, and as all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord,


Say to them, ‘As I live, says the Lord, what you have said in my hearing I will do to you:


but declared first to those at Damascus, then at Jerusalem and throughout all the country of Judea, and also to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God and perform deeds worthy of their repentance.


Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,


for it is written, “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall give praise to God.”


who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.


The Lord is not slow about his promise as some count slowness, but is forbearing toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
