He drove out the man; and at the east of the garden of Eden he placed the cherubim, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.


It is time for the Lord to act, for thy law has been broken.


behold, I will send for all the tribes of the north, says the Lord, and for Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and I will bring them against this land and its inhabitants, and against all these nations round about; I will utterly destroy them, and make them a horror, a hissing, and an everlasting reproach.


Therefore, thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I am bringing punishment on the king of Babylon and his land, as I punished the king of Assyria.


“Hear how I groan; there is none to comfort me. All my enemies have heard of my trouble; they are glad that thou hast done it. Bring thou the day thou hast announced, and let them be as I am.


And I will bring you forth out of the midst of it, and give you into the hands of foreigners, and execute judgments upon you.


And I will pour out my indignation upon you; I will blow upon you with the fire of my wrath; and I will deliver you into the hands of brutal men, skilful to destroy.


For thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will deliver you into the hands of those whom you hate, into the hands of those from whom you turned in disgust;


“Thus says the Lord God: I will put an end to the wealth of Egypt, by the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon.


He and his people with him, the most terrible of the nations, shall be brought in to destroy the land; and they shall draw their swords against Egypt, and fill the land with the slain.


Your shepherds are asleep, O king of Assyria; your nobles slumber. Your people are scattered on the mountains with none to gather them.


For whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord; and because of these abominable practices the Lord your God is driving them out before you.


among them Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have delivered to Satan that they may learn not to blaspheme.


For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy; yet mercy triumphs over judgment.
