There was nothing in the ark except the two tables of stone which Moses put there at Horeb, where the Lord made a covenant with the people of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.


And David assembled all Israel at Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the Lord to its place, which he had prepared for it.

As the Lord commanded Moses, so Aaron placed it before the testimony, to be kept.

And he gave to Moses, when he had made an end of speaking with him upon Mount Sinai, the two tables of the testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.
