And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.


And it was told King David, “The Lord has blessed the household of Obed-edom and all that belongs to him, because of the ark of God.” So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-edom to the city of David with rejoicing;


that thy eyes may be open night and day toward this house, the place of which thou hast said, ‘My name shall be there,’ that thou mayest hearken to the prayer which thy servant offers toward this place.


hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and do according to all for which the foreigner calls to thee; in order that all the peoples of the earth may know thy name and fear thee, as do thy people Israel, and that they may know that this house which I have built is called by thy name.


And the Lord said to him, “I have heard your prayer and your supplication, which you have made before me; I have consecrated this house which you have built, and put my name there for ever; my eyes and my heart will be there for all time.


Then Naaman said, “If not, I pray you, let there be given to your servant two mules' burden of earth; for henceforth your servant will not offer burnt offering or sacrifice to any god but the Lord.


So King Rehoboam established himself in Jerusalem and reigned. Rehoboam was forty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the Lord had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel to put his name there. His mother's name was Naamah the Ammonitess.


but I have chosen Jerusalem that my name may be there and I have chosen David to be over my people Israel.’


For now I have chosen and consecrated this house that my name may be there for ever; my eyes and my heart will be there for all time.


May the God who has caused his name to dwell there overthrow any king or people that shall put forth a hand to alter this, or to destroy this house of God which is in Jerusalem. I Darius make a decree; let it be done with all diligence.”


but if you return to me and keep my commandments and do them, though your dispersed be under the farthest skies, I will gather them thence and bring them to the place which I have chosen, to make my name dwell there.’


I will give heed to the way that is blameless. Oh when wilt thou come to me? I will walk with integrity of heart within my house;


Our feet have been standing within your gates, O Jerusalem!


The Lord bless you from Zion! May you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life!


May the Lord bless you from Zion, he who made heaven and earth!


They set thy sanctuary on fire; to the ground they desecrated the dwelling place of thy name.


His abode has been established in Salem, his dwelling place in Zion.


but he chose the tribe of Judah, Mount Zion, which he loves.


But Moses said, “You must also let us have sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice to the Lord our God.


And Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, offered a burnt offering and sacrifices to God; and Aaron came with all the elders of Israel to eat bread with Moses' father-in-law before God.


And if you make me an altar of stone, you shall not build it of hewn stones; for if you wield your tool upon it you profane it.


And Moses wrote all the words of the Lord. And he rose early in the morning, and built an altar at the foot of the mountain, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel.


And he sent young men of the people of Israel, who offered burnt offerings and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen to the Lord.


“You shall make the altar of acacia wood, five cubits long and five cubits broad; the altar shall be square, and its height shall be three cubits.


Thou meetest him that joyfully works righteousness, those that remember thee in thy ways. Behold, thou wast angry, and we sinned; in our sins we have been a long time, and shall we be saved?


and does not bring it to the door of the tent of meeting, to sacrifice it to the Lord; that man shall be cut off from his people.


For from the rising of the sun to its setting my name is great among the nations, and in every place incense is offered to my name, and a pure offering; for my name is great among the nations, says the Lord of hosts.


For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”


teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age.”


then to the place which the Lord your God will choose, to make his name dwell there, thither you shall bring all that I command you: your burnt offerings and your sacrifices, your tithes and the offering that you present, and all your votive offerings which you vow to the Lord.


If the place which the Lord your God will choose to put his name there is too far from you, then you may kill any of your herd or your flock, which the Lord has given you, as I have commanded you; and you may eat within your towns as much as you desire.


But you shall seek the place which the Lord your God will choose out of all your tribes to put his name and make his habitation there; thither you shall go,


And before the Lord your God, in the place which he will choose, to make his name dwell there, you shall eat the tithe of your grain, of your wine, and of your oil, and the firstlings of your herd and flock; that you may learn to fear the Lord your God always.


and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God, you and your son and your daughter, your manservant and your maidservant, the Levite who is within your towns, the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow who are among you, at the place which the Lord your God will choose, to make his name dwell there.


you shall take some of the first of all the fruit of the ground, which you harvest from your land that the Lord your God gives you, and you shall put it in a basket, and you shall go to the place which the Lord your God will choose, to make his name to dwell there.


he will love you, bless you, and multiply you; he will also bless the fruit of your body and the fruit of your ground, your grain and your wine and your oil, the increase of your cattle and the young of your flock, in the land which he swore to your fathers to give you.


I desire then that in every place the men should pray, lifting holy hands without anger or quarreling;
