And I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in their own place, and be disturbed no more; and violent men shall afflict them no more, as formerly,


I have built thee an exalted house, a place for thee to dwell in for ever.”


Judah became his sanctuary, Israel his dominion.


“I have set my king on Zion, my holy hill.”


thou with thy own hand didst drive out the nations, but them thou didst plant; thou didst afflict the peoples, but them thou didst set free;


Why look you with envy, O many-peaked mountain, at the mount which God desired for his abode, yea, where the Lord will dwell for ever?


His abode has been established in Salem, his dwelling place in Zion.

Thou didst bring a vine out of Egypt; thou didst drive out the nations and plant it.


“Thou hast led in thy steadfast love the people whom thou hast redeemed, thou hast guided them by thy strength to thy holy abode.


“Behold, I send an angel before you, to guard you on the way and to bring you to the place which I have prepared.


And let them make me a sanctuary, that I may dwell in their midst.


But now go, lead the people to the place of which I have spoken to you; behold, my angel shall go before you. Nevertheless, in the day when I visit, I will visit their sin upon them.”


Yet I planted you a choice vine, wholly of pure seed. How then have you turned degenerate and become a wild vine?


Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: “Once more they shall use these words in the land of Judah and in its cities, when I restore their fortunes: ‘The Lord bless you, O habitation of righteousness, O holy hill!’


I will rejoice in doing them good, and I will plant them in this land in faithfulness, with all my heart and all my soul.


I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them; and I will bless them and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore.


Then the nations will know that I the Lord sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary is in the midst of them for evermore.”


They shall call peoples to their mountain; there they offer right sacrifices; for they suck the affluence of the seas and the hidden treasures of the sand.”


But now, if your land is unclean, pass over into the Lord's land where the Lord's tabernacle stands, and take for yourselves a possession among us; only do not rebel against the Lord, or make us as rebels by building yourselves an altar other than the altar of the Lord our God.
