And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had rendered; and they stood in awe of the king, because they perceived that the wisdom of God was in him, to render justice.


This very day the ladies of Persia and Media who have heard of the queen's behavior will be telling it to all the king's princes, and there will be contempt and wrath in plenty.


This advice pleased the king and the princes, and the king did as Memucan proposed;


After these things, when the anger of King Ahasu-erus had abated, he remembered Vashti and what she had done and what had been decreed against her.


If it please the king, let it be decreed that they be destroyed, and I will pay ten thousand talents of silver into the hands of those who have charge of the king's business, that they may put it into the king's treasuries.”
