For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government will be upon his shoulder, and his name will be called “Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”


Therefore, if any one is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, behold, the new has come.


For all who rely on works of the law are under a curse; for it is written, “Cursed be every one who does not abide by all things written in the book of the law, and do them.”


There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.


For neither circumcision counts for anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation.


For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.


For he is our peace, who has made us both one, and has broken down the dividing wall of hostility,


and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby bringing the hostility to an end.


from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by every joint with which it is supplied, when each part is working properly, makes bodily growth and upbuilds itself in love.

If with Christ you died to the elemental spirits of the universe, why do you live as if you still belonged to the world? Why do you submit to regulations,


and have put on the new nature, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.


Here there cannot be Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free man, but Christ is all, and in all.


And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in the one body. And be thankful.

In speaking of a new covenant he treats the first as obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.
