And he said, “Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, who with his hand has fulfilled what he promised with his mouth to David my father, saying,


(for they are thy people, and thy heritage, which thou didst bring out of Egypt, from the midst of the iron furnace).


They are thy servants and thy people, whom thou hast redeemed by thy great power and by thy strong hand.


Know that the Lord is God! It is he that made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.


Then the anger of the Lord was kindled against his people, and he abhorred his heritage;


with a strong hand and an outstretched arm, for his steadfast love endures for ever;


O save thy people, and bless thy heritage; be thou their shepherd, and carry them for ever.


Thou didst with thy arm redeem thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah


For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. O that today you would hearken to his voice!


Now therefore, if you will obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my own possession among all peoples; for all the earth is mine,


Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found favor in thy sight, show me now thy ways, that I may know thee and find favor in thy sight. Consider too that this nation is thy people.”


And he said, “If now I have found favor in thy sight, O Lord, let the Lord, I pray thee, go in the midst of us, although it is a stiff-necked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for thy inheritance.”


Say therefore to the people of Israel, ‘I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great acts of judgment,


In that day the Lord will extend his hand yet a second time to recover the remnant which is left of his people, from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Ethiopia, from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the coastlands of the sea.


We have become like those over whom thou hast never ruled, like those who are not called by thy name.


Yet, O Lord, thou art our Father; we are the clay, and thou art our potter; we are all the work of thy hand.


“It is I who by my great power and my outstretched arm have made the earth, with the men and animals that are on the earth, and I give it to whomever it seems right to me.


For the Lord's portion is his people, Jacob his allotted heritage.


But the Lord has taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, out of Egypt, to be a people of his own possession, as at this day.


Or has any god ever attempted to go and take a nation for himself from the midst of another nation, by trials, by signs, by wonders, and by war, by a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the Lord your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?


Then the Lord said to me, ‘Arise, go down quickly from here; for your people whom you have brought from Egypt have acted corruptly; they have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them; they have made themselves a molten image.’


And I prayed to the Lord, ‘O Lord God, destroy not thy people and thy heritage, whom thou hast redeemed through thy greatness, whom thou hast brought out of Egypt with a mighty hand.
