15 Now if you are ready when you hear the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, bagpipe, and every kind of music, to fall down and worship the image which I have made, well and good; but if you do not worship, you shall immediately be cast into a burning fiery furnace; and who is the god that will deliver you out of my hands?”

Who among all the gods of the countries have delivered their countries out of my hand, that the Lord should deliver Jerusalem out of my hand?’ ”


But now, if thou wilt forgive their sin—and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.”


But Pharaoh said, “Who is the Lord, that I should heed his voice and let Israel go? I do not know the Lord, and moreover I will not let Israel go.”


“ ‘Whom have you mocked and reviled? Against whom have you raised your voice and haughtily lifted your eyes? Against the Holy One of Israel!


The king said to Daniel, “Truly, your God is God of gods and Lord of kings, and a revealer of mysteries, for you have been able to reveal this mystery.”


that if you do not make the dream known to me, there is but one sentence for you. You have agreed to speak lying and corrupt words before me till the times change. Therefore tell me the dream, and I shall know that you can show me its interpretation.”


If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace; and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king.


Then the king commanded, and Daniel was brought and cast into the den of lions. The king said to Daniel, “May your God, whom you serve continually, deliver you!”


When he came near to the den where Daniel was, he cried out in a tone of anguish and said to Daniel, “O Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?”


When they deliver you up, do not be anxious how you are to speak or what you are to say; for what you are to say will be given to you in that hour;


He trusts in God; let God deliver him now, if he desires him; for he said, ‘I am the Son of God.’ ”


And when they bring you to trial and deliver you up, do not be anxious beforehand what you are to say; but say whatever is given you in that hour, for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.


And when they bring you before the synagogues and the rulers and the authorities, do not be anxious how or what you are to answer or what you are to say;


And if it bears fruit next year, well and good; but if not, you can cut it down.’ ”


But Peter and John answered them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, you must judge;


But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men.


And gazing at him, all who sat in the council saw that his face was like the face of an angel.
