26 But an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Rise and go toward the south to the road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” This is a desert road.

But the angel of the Lord said to Elijah the Tishbite, “Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and say to them, ‘Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are going to inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron?’


gold, silver, bronze, and iron. Arise and be doing! The Lord be with you!”


Ashkelon shall see it, and be afraid; Gaza too, and shall writhe in anguish; Ekron also, because its hopes are confounded. The king shall perish from Gaza; Ashkelon shall be uninhabited;


And they said, “Cornelius, a centurion, an upright and God-fearing man, who is well spoken of by the whole Jewish nation, was directed by a holy angel to send for you to come to his house, and to hear what you have to say.”


When the angel who spoke to him had departed, he called two of his servants and a devout soldier from among those that waited on him,


Immediately an angel of the Lord smote him, because he did not give God the glory; and he was eaten by worms and died.


For this very night there stood by me an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I worship,


But at night an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors and brought them out and said,


And the Spirit said to Philip, “Go up and join this chariot.”


Philip went down to a city of Samaria, and proclaimed to them the Christ.


Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to serve, for the sake of those who are to obtain salvation?


(from the Shihor, which is east of Egypt, northward to the boundry of Ekron, it is reckoned as Canaanite; there are five rulers of the Philistines, those of Gaza, Ashdod, Ashkelon, Gath, and Ekron), and those of the Avvim,


Ashdod, its towns and its villages; Gaza, its towns and its villages; to the Brook of Egypt, and the Great Sea with its coast-line.
