For he who finds me finds life and obtains favor from the Lord;


And if those days had not been shortened, no human being would be saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.


For false Christs and false prophets will arise and show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.


and he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.


And will not God vindicate his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them?


But he denied it, saying, “Woman, I do not know him.”


and not for the nation only, but to gather into one the children of God who are scattered abroad.


Father, I desire that they also, whom thou hast given me, may be with me where I am, to behold my glory which thou hast given me in thy love for me before the foundation of the world.


I am praying for them; I am not praying for the world but for those whom thou hast given me, for they are thine;


to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life;


in order to make known the riches of his glory for the vessels of mercy, which he has prepared beforehand for glory,


For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe.


To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.


If we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; and if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which you experience when you patiently endure the same sufferings that we suffer.


I will most gladly spend and be spent for your souls. If I love you the more, am I to be loved the less?


For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God.


For this slight momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison,


So I ask you not to lose heart over what I am suffering for you, which is your glory.


Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I complete what is lacking in Christ's afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church,
