And the hand of the Lord was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.


Then he took the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and struck the water, saying, “Where is the Lord, the God of Elijah?” And when he had struck the water, the water was parted to the one side and to the other; and Elisha went over.


Then Elijah took his mantle, and rolled it up, and struck the water, and the water was parted to the one side and to the other, till the two of them could go over on dry ground.


And he said to Gehazi his servant, “Call this Shunammite.” When he had called her, she stood before him.


Then Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets and said to him, “Gird up your loins, and take this flask of oil in your hand, and go to Ramoth-gilead.


Lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, that the people of Israel may go on dry ground through the sea.


And you shall take in your hand this rod, with which you shall do the signs.”


She girds her loins with strength and makes her arms strong.
