then hear thou from heaven, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again to the land which thou gavest to them and to their fathers.


Thou hast made us turn back from the foe; and our enemies have gotten spoil.


Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done that which is evil in thy sight, so that thou art justified in thy sentence and blameless in thy judgment.


He who conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.


I will set my face against you, and you shall be smitten before your enemies; those who hate you shall rule over you, and you shall flee when none pursues you.


They shall stumble over one another, as if to escape a sword, though none pursues; and you shall have no power to stand before your enemies.


“The Lord will cause you to be defeated before your enemies; you shall go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them; and you shall be a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth.
