2 Chronicles 30:22 - Revised Standard Version

22 And Hezekiah spoke encouragingly to all the Levites who showed good skill in the service of the Lord. So the people ate the food of the festival for seven days, sacrificing peace offerings and giving thanks to the Lord the God of their fathers.

So do not fear; I will provide for you and your little ones.” Thus he reassured them and comforted them.


For a long time Israel was without the true God, and without a teaching priest, and without law;


And they taught in Judah, having the book of the law of the Lord with them; they went about through all the cities of Judah and taught among the people.


And he set combat commanders over the people, and gathered them together to him in the square at the gate of the city and spoke encouragingly to them, saying,


And he said to the Levites who taught all Israel and who were holy to the Lord, “Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David, king of Israel, built; you need no longer carry it upon your shoulders. Now serve the Lord your God and his people Israel.


Now then make confession to the Lord the God of your fathers, and do his will; separate yourselves from the peoples of the land and from the foreign wives.”


For Ezra had set his heart to study the law of the Lord, and to do it, and to teach his statutes and ordinances in Israel.


“And you, Ezra, according to the wisdom of your God which is in your hand, appoint magistrates and judges who may judge all the people in the province Beyond the River, all such as know the laws of your God; and those who do not know them, you shall teach.


And by the good hand of our God upon us, they brought us a man of discretion, of the sons of Mahli the son of Levi, son of Israel, namely Sherebiah with his sons and kinsmen, eighteen;


And day by day, from the first day to the last day, he read from the book of the law of God. They kept the feast seven days; and on the eighth day there was a solemn assembly, according to the ordinance.


And they stood up in their place and read from the book of the law of the Lord their God for a fourth of the day; for another fourth of it they made confession and worshiped the Lord their God.


Hear, for I will speak noble things, and from my lips will come what is right;


“Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak tenderly to her.


And this is eternal life, that they know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent.


For it is the God who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.


They shall teach Jacob thy ordinances, and Israel thy law; they shall put incense before thee, and whole burnt offering upon thy altar.


Indeed I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as refuse, in order that I may gain Christ


preach the word, be urgent in season and out of season, convince, rebuke, and exhort, be unfailing in patience and in teaching.


Then Joshua said to Achan, “My son, give glory to the Lord God of Israel, and render praise to him; and tell me now what you have done; do not hide it from me.”
