2 Chronicles 19:10 - Revised Standard Version

10 whenever a case comes to you from your brethren who live in their cities, concerning bloodshed, law or commandment, statutes or ordinances, then you shall instruct them, that they may not incur guilt before the Lord and wrath may not come upon you and your brethren. Thus you shall do, and you will not incur guilt.

But Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to King Jehoshaphat, “Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the Lord? Because of this, wrath has gone out against you from the Lord.


And he charged them: “Thus you shall do in the fear of the Lord, in faithfulness, and with your whole heart:


when they have a dispute, they come to me and I decide between a man and his neighbor, and I make them know the statutes of God and his decisions.”


“Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; whenever you hear a word from my mouth, you shall give them warning from me.


But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, so that the people are not warned, and the sword comes, and takes any one of them; that man is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at the watchman's hand.


And Moses said to Aaron, “Take your censer, and put fire therein from off the altar, and lay incense on it, and carry it quickly to the congregation, and make atonement for them; for wrath has gone forth from the Lord, the plague has begun.”


Thus did Moses; as the Lord commanded him, so he did.


Therefore be alert, remembering that for three years I did not cease night or day to admonish every one with tears.


And the priests the sons of Levi shall come forward, for the Lord your God has chosen them to minister to him and to bless in the name of the Lord, and by their word every dispute and every assault shall be settled.


And we exhort you, brethren, admonish the idlers, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all.
