And all his servants passed by him; and all the Cherethites, and all the Pelethites, and all the six hundred Gittites who had followed him from Gath, passed on before the king.


He who is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly.


He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.


Good sense makes a man slow to anger, and it is his glory to overlook an offense.


It is not good for a man to be without knowledge, and he who makes haste with his feet misses his way.


Do not say, “I will repay evil”; wait for the Lord, and he will help you.


do not hastily bring into court; for what will you do in the end, when your neighbor puts you to shame?


So the men partook of their provisions, and did not ask direction from the Lord.


And every one who was in distress, and every one who was in debt, and every one who was discontented, gathered to him; and he became captain over them. And there were with him about four hundred men.


Then David and his men, who were about six hundred, arose and departed from Keilah, and they went wherever they could go. When Saul was told that David had escaped from Keilah, he gave up the expedition.


So David's young men turned away, and came back and told him all this.


So David arose and went over, he and the six hundred men who were with him, to Achish the son of Maoch, king of Gath.
