but you shall fear the Lord your God, and he will deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.”


And he said to man, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.’ ”


The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; a good understanding have all those who practice it. His praise endures for ever!


May my heart be blameless in thy statutes, that I may not be put to shame!


The blood shall be a sign for you, upon the houses where you are; and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and no plague shall fall upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.


The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.


The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God, and keep his commandments; for this is the whole duty of man.


They have lyre and harp, timbrel and flute and wine at their feasts; but they do not regard the deeds of the Lord, or see the work of his hands.


Jesus saw Nathana-el coming to him, and said of him, “Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!”
