Some are arrogant, as though I were not coming to you.


you are to deliver this man to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.


But I call God to witness against me—it was to spare you that I refrained from coming to Corinth.


being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete.


For even if I boast a little too much of our authority, which the Lord gave for building you up and not for destroying you, I shall not be put to shame.


I urged Titus to go, and sent the brother with him. Did Titus take advantage of you? Did we not act in the same spirit? Did we not take the same steps?


I write this while I am away from you, in order that when I come I may not have to be severe in my use of the authority which the Lord has given me for building up and not for tearing down.


I warned those who sinned before and all the others, and I warn them now while absent, as I did when present on my second visit, that if I come again I will not spare them—


For I made up my mind not to make you another painful visit.


And I wrote as I did, so that when I came I might not suffer pain from those who should have made me rejoice, for I felt sure of all of you, that my joy would be the joy of you all.


Indeed, in this case, what once had splendor has come to have no splendor at all, because of the splendor that surpasses it.


Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Look to yourself, lest you too be tempted.


But we were gentle among you, like a nurse taking care of her children.


But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, without uncertainty or insincerity.
