Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will be established.


I know, O Lord, that the way of man is not in himself, that it is not in man who walks to direct his steps.

but on taking leave of them he said, “I will return to you if God wills,” and he set sail from Ephesus.


asking that somehow by God's will I may now at last succeed in coming to you.


But I will come to you soon, if the Lord wills, and I will find out not the talk of these arrogant people but their power.


Because I was sure of this, I wanted to come to you first, so that you might have a double pleasure;


Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and we shall do this or that.”
