And David and all the house of Israel were making merry before the Lord with all their might, with songs and lyres and harps and tambourines and castanets and cymbals.


And the king made of the almug wood supports for the house of the Lord, and for the king's house, lyres also and harps for the singers; no such almug wood has come or been seen, to this day.

For in the days of David and Asaph of old there was a chief of the singers, and there were songs of praise and thanksgiving to God.

addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with all your heart,


Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teach and admonish one another in all wisdom, and sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
