13 The sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses. Aaron was set apart to consecrate the most holy things, that he and his sons for ever should burn incense before the Lord, and minister to him and pronounce blessings in his name for ever.

When men in the camp were jealous of Moses and Aaron, the holy one of the Lord,


Moses and Aaron were among his priests, Samuel also was among those who called on his name. They cried to the Lord, and he answered them.


“And you shall make a plate of pure gold, and engrave on it, like the engraving of a signet, ‘Holy to the Lord.’


I will consecrate the tent of meeting and the altar; Aaron also and his sons I will consecrate, to serve me as priest.


Amram took to wife Jochebed his father's sister and she bore him Aaron and Moses, the years of the life of Amram being one hundred and thirty-seven years.


You are to distinguish between the holy and the common, and between the unclean and the clean;


So the Lord said to Aaron, “You and your sons and your fathers' house with you shall bear iniquity in connection with the sanctuary; and you and your sons with you shall bear iniquity in connection with your priesthood.


The name of Amram's wife was Jochebed the daughter of Levi, who was born to Levi in Egypt; and she bore to Amram Aaron and Moses and Miriam their sister.


Of Kohath were the family of the Amramites, and the family of the Izharites, and the family of the Hebronites, and the family of the Uzzielites; these are the families of the Kohathites.


according to the custom of the priesthood, it fell to him by lot to enter the temple of the Lord and burn incense.
