The sons of Javan: Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.


The sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, Diphath, and Togarmah.


The sons of Ham: Cush, Egypt, Put, and Canaan.


May the kings of Tarshish and of the isles render him tribute, may the kings of Sheba and Seba bring gifts!


The oracle concerning Tyre. Wail, O ships of Tarshish, for Tyre is laid waste, without house or haven! From the land of Cyprus it is revealed to them.


And he said: “You will no more exult, O oppressed virgin daughter of Sidon; arise, pass over to Cyprus, even there you will have no rest.”


and I will set a sign among them. And from them I will send survivors to the nations, to Tarshish, Put, and Lud, who draw the bow, to Tubal and Javan, to the coastlands afar off, that have not heard my fame or seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the nations.

Of oaks of Bashan they made your oars; they made your deck of pines from the coasts of Cyprus, inlaid with ivory.


Of fine embroidered linen from Egypt was your sail, serving as your ensign; blue and purple from the coasts of Elishah was your awning.


For ships of Kittim shall come against him, and he shall be afraid and withdraw, and shall turn back and be enraged and take action against the holy covenant. He shall turn back and give heed to those who forsake the holy covenant.


But ships shall come from Kittim and shall afflict Asshur and Eber; and he also shall come to destruction.”
