The Lord in truth to David sware, he will not turn from it, I of thy body's fruit will make upon thy throne to sit.


My cov'nant if thy sons will keep, and laws to them made known, Their children then shall also sit for ever on thy throne.


His name for ever shall endure; last like the sun it shall: Men shall be bless'd in him, and bless'd all nations shall him call.


God's mercies I will ever sing; and with my mouth I shall Thy faithfulness make to be known to generations all.


His seed I by my pow'r will make for ever to endure; And, as the days of heav'n, his throne shall stable be, and sure.


His seed and throne shall, as the sun, before me last for aye.
