I waited for the Lord my God, and patiently did bear; At length to me he did incline my voice and cry to hear.


I for thy sacrifice no blame will on thee lay, Nor for burnt-off 'rings, which to me thou offer'dst ev'ry day.


My soul with expectation depends on God indeed; My strength and my salvation doth from him alone proceed.


My soul, wait thou with patience upon thy God alone; On him dependeth all my hope and expectation.
