For, as an hearth, my bones are burnt, my days, like smoke, do waste.


I, while I live, will call on him, who bow'd to me his ear.


And see if any wicked way there be at all in me; And in thine everlasting way to me a leader be.


My fortress is the Lord, My rock, and he that doth to me deliverance afford: My God, my strength, whom I will trust, a buckler unto me, The horn of my salvation, and my high tow'r, is he.


Now, for thine own name's sake, O Lord, I thee entreat To pardon mine iniquity; for it is very great.


And do thou lead me in thy truth, therein my teacher be: For thou art God that dost to me salvation send, And I upon thee all the day expecting do attend.


The meek in judgment he will guide, and make his path to know.


O send thy light forth and thy truth; let them be guides to me, And bring me to thine holy hill, ev'n where thy dwellings be.


Be thou my dwelling-rock, to which I ever may resort: Thou gav'st commandment me to save, for thou'rt my rock and fort.


For thy name's glory help us, Lord, who hast our Saviour been: Deliver us; for thy name's sake, O purge away our sin.
