Then Elisha prayed: “O Lord, please open his eyes that he may see.” So the Lord opened the eyes of the servant, and he saw; the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.


When he is quiet, who can condemn? When he hides his face, who can behold him, whether it be a nation or an individual?—


The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.


Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your judgments are like the great deep; you save humans and animals alike, O Lord.


No wisdom, no understanding, no counsel, can avail against the Lord.


I am God, and also henceforth I am He; there is no one who can deliver from my hand; I work and who can hinder it?


For the Lord will come in fire, and his chariots like the whirlwind, to pay back his anger in fury, and his rebuke in flames of fire.


Look! He comes up like clouds, his chariots like the whirlwind; his horses are swifter than eagles— woe to us, for we are ruined!


But leave its stump and roots in the ground, with a band of iron and bronze, in the tender grass of the field. Let him be bathed with the dew of heaven. and let his lot be with the animals of the field in the grass of the earth.


All the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, and he does what he wills with the host of heaven and the inhabitants of the earth. There is no one who can stay his hand or say to him, “What are you doing?”


As for the horn that was broken, in place of which four others arose, four kingdoms shall arise from his nation, but not with his power.
