After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, “Do not be afraid, Abram, I am your shield; your reward shall be very great.”


The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our ancestors; may he not leave us or abandon us,


He replied, “Do not be afraid, for there are more with us than there are with them.”


When the Ammonites saw that the Arameans fled, they likewise fled before Abishai, Joab's brother, and entered the city. Then Joab came to Jerusalem.


Many fell slain, because the war was of God. And they lived in their territory until the exile.


With the Lord on my side I do not fear. What can mortals do to me?


The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah

in God I trust; I am not afraid. What can a mere mortal do to me?


In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I am not afraid; what can flesh do to me?


Then my enemies will retreat in the day when I call. This I know, that God is for me.


do not fear, for I am with you, do not be afraid, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.


No weapon that is fashioned against you shall prosper, and you shall confute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, says the Lord.


Take counsel together, but it shall be brought to naught; speak a word, but it will not stand, for God is with us.


They will fight against you; but they shall not prevail against you, for I am with you, says the Lord, to deliver you.


But the Lord is with me like a dread warrior; therefore my persecutors will stumble, and they will not prevail. They will be greatly shamed, for they will not succeed. Their eternal dishonor will never be forgotten.


Do not be afraid of the king of Babylon, as you have been; do not be afraid of him, says the Lord, for I am with you, to save you and to rescue you from his hand.


Only, do not rebel against the Lord; and do not fear the people of the land, for they are no more than bread for us; their protection is removed from them, and the Lord is with us; do not fear them.”


“Look, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel,” which means, “God is with us.”


But if our injustice serves to confirm the justice of God, what should we say? That God is unjust to inflict wrath on us? (I speak in a human way.)


What then are we to say was gained by Abraham, our ancestor according to the flesh?


Happy are you, O Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord, the shield of your help, and the sword of your triumph! Your enemies shall come fawning to you, and you shall tread on their backs.


Joshua took all these kings and their land at one time, because the Lord God of Israel fought for Israel.


Little children, you are from God, and have conquered them; for the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.


Jonathan said to the young man who carried his armor, “Come, let us go over to the garrison of these uncircumcised; it may be that the Lord will act for us; for nothing can hinder the Lord from saving by many or by few.”
