Joseph then gave orders to fill their bags with grain, to return every man's money to his sack, and to give them provisions for their journey. This was done for them.


Do not say, “I will repay evil”; wait for the Lord, and he will help you.


Do not say, “I will do to others as they have done to me; I will pay them back for what they have done.”


leave your gift there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother or sister, and then come and offer your gift.


But I say to you, Do not resist an evildoer. But if anyone strikes you on the right cheek, turn the other also;


Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave room for the wrath of God; for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”


So do not let your good be spoken of as evil.
