So the churches were strengthened in the faith and increased in numbers daily.


Now after these things had been accomplished, Paul resolved in the Spirit to go through Macedonia and Achaia, and then to go on to Jerusalem. He said, “After I have gone there, I must also see Rome.”


When Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied—


or rather so that we may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith, both yours and mine.


But now, with no further place for me in these regions, I desire, as I have for many years, to come to you


and I know that when I come to you, I will come in the fullness of the blessing of Christ.


so that by God's will I may come to you with joy and be refreshed in your company.


Now to God who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret for long ages


Since I was sure of this, I wanted to come to you first, so that you might have a double favor;


But it is God who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us,


For if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus than the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you submit to it readily enough.


while they long for you and pray for you because of the surpassing grace of God that he has given you.


For God is my witness, how I long for all of you with the compassion of Christ Jesus.


for he has been longing for all of you, and has been distressed because you heard that he was ill.


Therefore, my brothers and sisters, whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm in the Lord in this way, my beloved.


And may he so strengthen your hearts in holiness that you may be blameless before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.


and we sent Timothy, our brother and co-worker for God in proclaiming the gospel of Christ, to strengthen and encourage you for the sake of your faith,


comfort your hearts and strengthen them in every good work and word.


But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one.


Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings; for it is well for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by regulations about food, which have not benefited those who observe them.


And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, support, strengthen, and establish you.


Through Silvanus, whom I consider a faithful brother, I have written this short letter to encourage you and to testify that this is the true grace of God. Stand fast in it.


Therefore I intend to keep on reminding you of these things, though you know them already and are established in the truth that has come to you.
