No, for I have chosen him, that he may charge his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing righteousness and justice; so that the Lord may bring about for Abraham what he has promised him.”


Long ago I learned from your decrees that you have established them forever.


He declares his word to Jacob, his statutes and ordinances to Israel.


The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the decrees of the Lord are sure, making wise the simple;


He made it a decree in Joseph, when he went out over the land of Egypt. I hear a voice I had not known:


you shall say, ‘It is the passover sacrifice to the Lord, for he passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt, when he struck down the Egyptians but spared our houses.’ ” And the people bowed down and worshiped.


You shall put into the ark the covenant that I shall give you.


You shall put the mercy seat on the top of the ark; and in the ark you shall put the covenant that I shall give you.


He took the covenant and put it into the ark, and put the poles on the ark, and set the mercy seat above the ark;


You shall put in it the ark of the covenant, and you shall screen the ark with the curtain.


The living, the living, they thank you, as I do this day; fathers make known to children your faithfulness.


for teaching and for instruction?” Surely, those who speak like this will have no dawn!

These are the decrees and the statutes and ordinances that Moses spoke to the Israelites when they had come out of Egypt,


Recite them to your children and talk about them when you are at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you rise.
