the Jews gathered in their cities throughout all the provinces of King Ahasuerus to lay hands on those who had sought their ruin; and no one could withstand them, because the fear of them had fallen upon all peoples.


May my accusers be clothed with dishonor; may they be wrapped in their own shame as in a mantle.


His enemies I will clothe with disgrace, but on him, his crown will gleam.”


Let all those who rejoice at my calamity be put to shame and confusion; let those who exalt themselves against me be clothed with shame and dishonor.


Let them be put to shame and dishonor who seek after my life. Let them be turned back and confounded who devise evil against me.


All my enemies shall be ashamed and struck with terror; they shall turn back, and in a moment be put to shame.


Let those who say, “Aha, Aha!” turn back because of their shame.
